Key Differences Between the New Certifications

The AWS Certified AI Practitioner is an entry-level certification that covers a broad range of AI concepts and AWS AI services. In contrast, the AWS Certified Machine Learning Engineer – Associate is more specialized, focusing on technical skills required for implementing and managing machine learning workloads on AWS.

Differences Between Associate and Specialty Levels

The new AWS Certified Machine Learning Engineer – Associate certification and the existing Machine Learning – Specialty certification serve different professional needs and experience levels. The Machine Learning – Specialty certification is more suitable for individuals with 2 or more years of experience developing, architecting, and running ML workloads on AWS.

Career Benefits

The demand for AI and ML specialists is expected to grow by 40%, according to the World Economic Forum Future of Jobs Report 2023. However, 70% of North American IT leaders say they have the greatest difficulty filling AI/ML specialist roles. This certification can position you for in-demand machine learning jobs in AWS Cloud.

Preparation and Exam Details

To prepare for these certifications, AWS offers a range of training resources, including free foundational cloud courses and AI foundational training. The AWS Certified AI Practitioner beta exam will be available to schedule starting August 13, 2024, and the exam duration is 120 minutes with 85 questions. The exam format includes multiple-choice and multiple-response questions, and the cost is $75 USD.

Conclusion

AWS's introduction of these certifications marks a significant milestone in the AI and ML landscape. These certifications offer professionals a unique opportunity to enhance their skills, demonstrate their expertise, and boost their career prospects. With the increasing demand for AI and ML skills, these certifications are poised to play a crucial role in shaping the future of the industry.
